Kellie Martin, she is an American actor and director of films, is popularly known for her roles as Christy Huddleston on the period drama "Christy", Rebecca Thatcher on the drama about families Life Goes On> and Lucy Knight for the medical drama ER. She is also famous for her role as the main character in her own Hailey Dean Mystery television series. Martin, born to a department store buyer and kindergarten teacher, began her career in acting when she was seven, when her aunt who served as a nanny to actor Michael Landon's children assisted Martin to get her a character in the 1981's series "Father Murphy". In the years following her Yale University graduation, she started to focus on acting. She was able to get major roles on the film and television industries. Martin was also an artist and photographer. Being a mom to two kids, she's been named the national spokesperson for Lupus. She has also actively promoted the disease since her sister's death from the illness at age 19.
