Anna Leigh Ashford
Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American actress, singer and dancer. Her early Broadway parts are Wicked Legally Blonde & Hair. In the musical, Hair. Tony Award was given to Ashford for the role of Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh Ashford, Tony Award winner actor has worked with many acclaimed directors and actors in the stage and on television. Ashford continues to build on her award-winning career through her forthcoming projects. Ashford is next seen opposite Kumail Nannjiani as part of Robert Siegel's Hulu Limited series Welcome to Chippendales premiering November 22. Ashford is currently working in Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust alongside Sarah Paulson, Ebon Moss Bachrach and Ebon Mosch-Bachrach. The film will stream on Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford will return to Broadway in the month of March 2023 with the role of Josh Groban opposite Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. The production is taking place at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre. The production is led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team that brought you Hamilton. Ashford was Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the crisis where Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp was the lead character in the very first impeachment proceedings in America. Ashford appeared for two seasons on the CBS hit comedy B Positive. She was also a guest on the popular series developed by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, that starred famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford is the recipient of the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Some other Broadway credits for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, in which she starred with George Wicked legally Blonde, as well as the role of Lauren on Kinky Boots. For this performance, she won an Tony Award nomination. Ashford was born in Denver and now lives between Los Angeles & New York.
